We collect onion skins in our kitchen but the main portion comes from our friendly eco-farm. They make “Handkäs mit Musik”- a local cuisine of Frankfurt once a week for everybody so they have a lot of onion skins left over. Lucky us, but we really need them because you need large amounts of onion skins for dyeing golden yellow. But it’s worth it! It’s such a warm, intense yellow, unreachable in it’s energy and vitality.
The merino-wool originates from the alpine upland in the south of germany, it’s not superwash processed and mulesing free according to the law that mulesing is forbidden at all in germany.
The wool is a little rough, strong and short-haired. The knitted clothes are very warm and have a nice natural look. It fits for every project, especially for warm pullovers and winters clothes.
Before starting your project it’s recommended to knit a gauge and buy enough wool because it might be difficult to order more of the same colour since the colourings vary from batch to batch.
