Description
Giverny is worked in 2×2 Rib from the top down, starting with a provisional cast-on at the waist. An elastic band is sewn inside the knitted waistband before closing it by removing the provisional cast-on and knitting together the live stitches and the provisional ones. Short rows raise the back of the skirt; increases gradually widen the skirt at the hips before decreasing slightly for a tighter fit. The body of the skirt is knitted straight before splitting at the middle back for comfort and ease of movement. The hem is finished with an Italian/tubular cast-off. Sewing a small tag or thread on the inside of the skirt will make it easier to identify the back when wearing.
